Wall Noir

Dark walls, especially black, are not the obvious color choice for a room or building exterior. The choice is a bold one. The final results, however, are not always. What I love about the use of the color black on architectural elements is that there is such potential. On the exterior black comes across as regal and classic, not at all witchy contrary to popular stereotype. Paint a room black and magic happens. A dark wall can make a smaller space feel endless, yet cozy. Metal fixtures in the kitchen and bath truly pop against this hue. It can lend an airy of austerity and soften contemporary edges. I’m a fan. If you are yet to be convinced, perhaps this gallery of inspiration will persuade you.
